    Description

For sale is a used, working 8x10 studio Century  Camera and stand.I have used this camera for over 38 years, and it is approximatly 116 years old(Circa 1904).It not only takes beautiful portraits, but makes a beautiful photo-parlor prop and conversation piece for  customers to see in the photo shop window.Children and adults love to have their portraits done with this camera, and its very presence in a shop window attracts customers from all over town. The Century Camera was first manufactured in the year 1900 in New York. That is why it was named The Century Camera. In 1904,George Eastman of Kodak, took over the company, and manufactured the camera in Rochester,New York.....Included in this sale is a #7 8x10 Century-Kodak studio camera with 8x10 back and glass,a cast iron and mahogony #1 stand on wheels, and a  brass Voigtlander #58093 Portrait Euroscope lens, with lens board.(lens is approximatly 300mm focal  length). The lens has an internal iris which can be opened or stopped down by hand rotation. The bellows have been taped here and there to prevent light leaks.I have been shooting recently with this camera, and I am not aware of any light leaks. If any light  leaks should occur in the future, the buyer may either tape them up or replace the bellows if required. Please note that I am selling these items "AS IS" and the photos in the listing are of the actual items being offered.Even though the Voigtlander is a stunning example of brass lenses from that era,and is capable of producing beautiful images on 8x10 film,I used it mainly as a novelty prop and photo-parlor decoration. When shooting the actual portraits for my customers,I prefer to use modern high resolution lenses with shutters in order to get more incredible sharper results. The stand will be shipped by UPS,since it is so large and heavy. The camera and lens will either be shipped by UPS or Canada Post. There is FREE shipping and FREE insurance anywhere within continental USA or Canada.Other locations will require additional shipping fees. Please contact for a quote for your area,if needed.Any customs duties, fees or other costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer.Usually there are no duties on large format cameras.....Buy with confidence, since your items are fully insured for loss or damage. Thanks for viewing.
