    Description

Please read my reviews and see what folks are saying about these ferro rods...
This listing is for one ferro rod. Here we have a hand made fire starter that is comprised of a 5/16 ferro rod and a wooden handle with leather lanyard. We make these in our shop just outside of Pulaski, TN, and also use them on a regular basis. When struck with a high carbon steel knife or tool they throw a very good shower of sparks making it easier to start a fire for camping, bushcrafting, survival, cooking, and other outdoor adventures.
We've been making and using these for a couple years now with great results and great feedback from our farm market and local event customers. We also offer this item with a deer antler handle and it works equally as well. If you spend time outdoors this is a great backup to your lighter in case of emergencies, or as a primary fire starter for those who want a more traditional, self reliant, and primitive outdoor experience.
Being hand made, the handles may vary slightly in appearance but will general be about the same size and shape. I turn the handles in my lathe from natural and local wood, then polish them to about 150 grit, and add an attractive finish to bring out the natural feature in the wood. We don't polish them any smoother than 150 in order to leave a little bit of grip for wet conditions. We do our best to always provide a high quality product and strive to build great relationships with our customers. That is why we always try to offer fair pricing and the best product we can make. Thank you for looking at our item.
Recommendation: If you are buying this or similar products to have in case of emergency purposes it is important to learn how to use it properly. Many folks are stocking up tools and preparations in case they need them but, the truth is, the time to master any tool is before you need it. So whether you buy from me or another vendor, please, do yourself a favor and learn the proper use and function before the item becomes a necessity. Remember, stuff does not provide security and confidence. Knowledge does. Practice with your tools and survival gear so you will be the expert when the time is needed.
Note: This auction is for one fire starter.
